More recently I retired and now have the time to dedicate to painting in a more coherent and cohesive way. It is amazing to have the time to create a body of work rather than squeeze in the overwhelming urge to paint at odd moments. I feel lucky to have had the career I’ve had and be a mother. I now feel fortunate to have the time, passion and knowledge to explore my painting language more fully.
The birth of my granddaughter in March this year inspired me massively. The incredible life saving surgery and the beautiful care by my daughter and son-in-law means she is, at the moment, a chortling bundle of the proof of the tenacity of nature, the life force that hums around us.
